Why do you need a TruNorth?

Bob was my best friend in high school. We played trumpets together in our competitive marching band. I remember when he taught me how to drive his Jeep on a deserted gravel road out in the country. Bob was one of my first best friends. I remember when I got the call that Bob had been in a single car accident that ended his short life way too quickly. I had so many questions. But what I mostly remember about that time in my life is a sense of deep sadness. How could Bob no longer be with me? We would never play trumpets together or drive his Jeep together.  This tragedy motivated me to try to make my life count while I am on earth. We never know when life could be shortened.

We desire to create original and not so original content that will help you on your leadership journey.  We all do not know the length of our time on earth but we also have the agency to create a preferred end. We also know leaders experience similar problems.

PRESSURE CAN RUIN YOUR LIFE

Life does have positive pressure. Like the pressure to pay your bills on time or to maintain healthy blood pressure. But when is the last time you experienced extreme pressure in life?

I am currently experiencing extreme pressure to raise additional funds for our non-profit but I have very little motivation.  The only motivation is the pressure to have enough to get a paycheck.

Pressure can negatively impact our lives in at least two ways. First, this pressure can convince us that who we really were designed to be is not enough. So, we try to be someone we were never designed to be or we overextend ourselves in our professional life. This can lead to fatigue, burnout, or cynicism.

The second way pressure can have a negative impact on us is that it can distract us from focusing on what matters. Pressure is like mayhem in the memorable Allstate commercials. It is always lurking around looking for the right moment to drop into our circumstances.

BEGIN WITH THE END

We believe that TruNorth can serve as your guide to offer solutions to the never ending pressures you feel.  You see, when you are on your deathbed none of the things you are currently stressed out about at work will matter. The size of your 401(k) does not matter nor does the size or number of your homes or how many vacations you can take or how many likes you have gotten through any of your social media platforms.  What matters in the end is not material things.

And to be honest, we all intuitively know that. What matters in the end is relationships.

We believe that the best way to get to your end is through developing your personal mission statement. We call it the TruNorth LifePlan This unique tool will provide you the blueprint to get to what matters most.  Through this blog we would like to journey with you as you recalibrate your life to your truNorth so that not only do you live a flourishing life today but so that when you get to your end you have no regrets.
